The Six Sisters’ Stuff series of cookbooks are very popular, and one likely reason is because their recipes are simple and tasty! The same goes for their latest release, Healthy Eats: 101+ Delicious Recipes and Tips for a Healthy Family. From recipes like “Easy Pumpkin Waffles” to “Egg Rolls in a Bowl,” the recipes take healthy ingredients and whip them up in a new way.

To accompany a popular summertime dinner of burgers on the grill, I chose to make the Six Sisters’ “Garlic-Lime Sweet Potato Fries.” Even those in my family who claim they don’t like sweet potatoes liked these, likely thanks to the sweet potatoes’ natural sugars that are roasted in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil and lime juice and a sprinkling of minced garlic, salt, pepper and cilantro.
Ingredients:
- 3 yellow sweet potatoes
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Cut sweet potatoes in half lengthwise, and then slice each half into several wedges. Line wedges on a large, rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil and lime juice over potatoes and then sprinkle with garlic, cilantro, salt and pepper. Use your hands to toss the potatoes until evenly coated in oil and seasonings. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until fries begin to turn crisp and golden brown.
